Technology and missions involvement Mars Express (ESA) The Mars Express spacecraft arrived at Mars in December 2003. We are currently involved in two instrument teams. High Resolution Stereo Camera - HRSC IRSPS responsible: Gian Gabriele Ori Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionosphere Sounding - MARSIS IRSPS Responsible: Gian Gabriele Ori Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (NASA) The MRO spacecraft arrived at Mars in March 2006. We are involved in the ground penetrating radar instrument team. Mars Shallow Subsurface Radar - SHARAD IRSPS Responsible: Lucia Marinangeli Venus Express (ESA) The Venus Express spacecraft arrived at Venus in April 2006. We are involved in the mapping spectrometer team. Ultraviolet/Visible/Near-infrared mapping Spectrometer - VIRTIS IRSPS Responsible: Lucia Marinangeli ExoMars mission (ESA) The ExoMars mission is a future rover mission to Mars. Lucia Marinangeli of IRSPS is the Principal Investigator of the X-ray diffractometer instrument. Development of an X-ray diffractometer for in situ mineralogical analysis - MARS-XRD IRSPS Responsible: Lucia Marinangeli Cassini/Huygens (NASA) The Cassini spacecraft arrived at the Saturnian system in July 2004 and it is investigating the planet and its moons with a variety of instruments.
